Introduction
From its early
beginnings, EWI has always been committed to promoting community involvement
and professional development among its members. In 1974, EWI participated in
a community project to encourage the development of careers in business among
high school students. Enthusiastically embraced by chapters throughout the organization,
the program quickly grew and developed into what is now known as the Business/Career/Development
Program (B/C/DP). Today, B/C/DP is a renowned nonprofit organization offering scholastic
assistance under the following scholarship programs:
Executive
Women International® Scholarship Program (EWISP)
The Executive Women
International® Scholarship Program has been helping high school juniors achieve
their academic goals for over 25 years. Recognized by Money magazine
as one of the top 12 scholarship opportunities in the United States, EWISP allows
selected students to compete at both the EWI chapter and EWI corporate levels
for scholarships.
Qualifications:
- The scholarship
is open to all high school juniors in public, private and parochial
schools in the areas served by EWI chapters. (For a list of all chapter locations,
visit the EWI corporate website at www.executivewomen.org)
- Students must
use their award toward earning a four-year degree at an accredited college
or university. (Students may attend a two-year accredited college, but only
as the initial step in the pursuit of a four-year degree.)
- Students must
be selected either by their school or by a teacher. Selections are accepted
between January and March and are limited to one student per school.
Judging Criteria:
Students are judged
on their application materials, oral and written communication skills, creativity,
scholastic records, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership qualities,
awards and honors, citizenship, attitude and clearly defined career goals.
